Cooking Up Colour is a collaboration between Sania and photographer Beth Evans. It is a paint story inspired by the act of cooking in the kitchen.
The act of mixing powdered paint is similar to cooking or baking and the story is consciously pale and neutral to reflect the soft colours of pastel confectionary, sugared almonds, pale pinks sitting next to tangerine and aubergine. Soft whites like meringue, whipped from powder into paint. Sania handmade dishes, bowls and discs from air-drying clay to paint in the pale tones and food was used to prop the story and create an ambiguity between the processes.
